WRSV, Choice FM boasts it's position as North Carolina's Oldest Black owned FM radio station. Since 1974, WRSV maintains a music intensive format while simultaneously providing intense news, and talk shows.
Lookslikemenc.com/ilovechoicefm.com are parts of the WRSV/WEED family. This site provides additional advertising opportunities for our clients AND a method of locating Black owned businesses in one place. The site is also promoted on FB/IG/Twitter daily.
WRSV-FM covers these NC counties : Wake, Nash, Franklin, Halifax, Vance, Wayne, Edgecombe, Wilson, Greene, Johnston and parts of Pitt counties.
The radio station signed on air in December of 1974 by Charles O Johnson, Sr and his wife Sarah M. Johnson. The Johnson's purchased WRSV and AM station, WEED in 1996. Johnson Sr, passed away later that year.
Since 1996, WRSV/WEED have been managed by Charles O Johnson II and in 2015 the station expanded the reach and audience the station to include NC's capital City, Raleigh.
